Step 1 - Open the photo |
If it isn't already open, open the photo you wish to modify. |

Step 2 - Turn down the saturation |
Choose Adjust > Hue and Saturation > Hue/Saturation/Lightness. In the dialog, set the Saturation value to negative 60 (-60), and then click OK. |

Step 3 - Add noise |
Choose Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise. In the dialog, choose the Uniform option, set the Noise value to 15, and mark the Monochrome checkbox. Click OK to add the noise. |

You may also want to try two effects accessed by choosing Effects > Artistic Effects: 1) The Aged Newspaper effect creates a brownish, old newspaper look; or 2) The Halftone effect applies a newspaper photo halftone dot pattern look. |

Since colors in aged photos tend to be less saturated, you may want to perform Step 2 above regardless of what other photo aging method you use. |
